CONCRETE LAW

Channel Street skatepark successfully existed for over a decade under the Interstate 110 freeway, despite its illegal creation, until overpass construction led to an ongoing shutdown. The park's founders and advocates continue to push for a reopening but the legal matter proves to be a much more complex task than anyone imagined.

While meticulously incorporating rare archival footage and conducting intimate interviews with local skateboarders, Los Angeles city officials, and business owners, filmmaker April Jones captures the passions and concerns from all angles. Interviews include park founders Andy Harris, Robbie O’Connell, Bill Sargeant , and LA officials Joe Buscaino, Aksel Palacios, and Janice
Hahn.
